The Stilton Group of Churches has a long standing relationship with the Foodbank in Yaxley. This is a vital resource which provides help to those in need within our community.
The items that are needed by the Foodbank are tinned and dried goods and long life products.
If you are able to make any donations, there is a donation point in St Mary Magdalene Church as well as in Nisa, Stilton. Or you can leave donations at the Rectory and we will transport these to Yaxley.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yaxley Foodbank would like to give our sincere thanks to the villages of Stilton, Folksworth, Morborne, Haddon and Elton for their immense support over the last twelve months. We have had a busy year supplying food parcels to those in financial crisis throughout the current pandemic. As you can see, a large proportion of our donations came from your generosity;
Total foodbank donations in the last year 13,609kg food items
Of which from our communities 4,831kg
For those who aren’t so aware of what we do, we provide a service to those who find themselves in crisis due to employment and financial changes in the villages north of Sawtry (who have their own foodbank). Working with other agencies to resolve these issues is crucial as we aim to offer a maximum of six parcels in a six month period. The foodbank provides food parcels of long life products based on a nutritionally balanced pick list of items. The parcels come in four sizes depending on the number of individuals in the household. In addition, thanks to generous financial donations, we have been able over the last 16 months to offer £10 Fruit & Veg vouchers to clients. These are exchangeable at Kemps Greengrocers in Yaxley for fresh products.
As we look forward to our next year we hope for your continued support.
Thank you Chris & Sue Grant
